With more than 60 designers and organizations, UCB Graphic Design Concentration participated in the Bahrain International Design Week (BIDW) held under the patronage of Industry and Commerce Minister Dr. Hassan Fahkro on 3rd-5th December 2013 at the Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Centre. This exhibition was aimed to collect local and regional effort in design field to showcase the latest developments in jewelry design, fashion, architectural design, decoration, and graphic design by international and local designers.

The UCB Graphic Design team was led under the guidance of Ms. Lillian Hallak, Ms. Haifa Yaseen and Ms. Sarah Gassoub. The BIDW was a platform for the students to demonstrate their skills to the international market. Apart from showcasing the skills and designs, UCB team also participated in the fashion show and conference held to discuss the reality of design in the present and future challenges and new trends in design field. “BIDW was a great opportunity for all of us to explore the field of design in all its aspects such as landscaping, information technology and architecture. It was a real time learning experience for our students”, commented senior faculty Graphic Design, Ms. Lillian Hallak.

Apart from Universities and educational firms in Bahrain, the exhibition also provided an opportunity for businessmen, investors, new companies and consumers to see the three key sectors including personal design, living design and support services for the design industry under one roof.
